Choosing an alternator

Mechman builds direct-fit high output alternators for this platform up to 400 amps, including RVC bypass versions. These trucks use computer-controlled charging, so alternator output varies with what the ECU decides rather than what your electrical system is actually drawing. A bypass alternator charges at a consistent voltage instead.

Stretch belt applications

Some later trucks use an OEM stretch belt rather than a tensioner. Check which system your truck has before ordering, since the alternator and belt requirements differ.

Choosing a battery

These trucks use a Group 94R / H6 tray. The XS Power battery package listed here includes the correct brass post adapters, so it drops into the factory location without improvising a connection.

Don't skip the wiring
