Which engine do you have?
The LX platform spans a wide range — 2.7L and 3.5L V6, 3.6L Pentastar, 5.7L HEMI, 6.1L and 6.4L SRT. Alternator applications differ across them, and the 2005-2007 cars differ from the 2008 and later refresh. Check your engine and year against the individual product listing.
Why LX owners upgrade
These are heavy cars with big audio systems, and the platform has a strong aftermarket. A trunk system with multiple amplifiers is the common case, and the symptom is the usual one — headlights dimming on bass notes at idle.
Supercharged and forced-induction SRT builds are the other case. An intercooler pump and upgraded fuel delivery pull current the factory charging system was not specified for, and voltage drop under load costs you both.
Choosing a battery
Many LX cars locate the battery in the trunk from the factory, which means a long cable run to the alternator. That run is worth upgrading whether or not you change the battery, since voltage drop over that distance is significant at high current.
