The VQ shares widely

Nissan used the VQ V6 across most of the lineup for years, which is why one alternator covers such a wide range of models. A 350Z, G35, Murano and Pathfinder can share an application despite being very different vehicles.

That said, Nissan changed connectors mid-generation on some platforms. A 2005 and a 2006 350Z may take different plugs. Check the individual product listing against your year rather than assuming.

Why Nissan owners upgrade

The Z cars and G-series are performance and audio platforms with strong aftermarket support, and the factory charging system is specified tightly. Titan and Armada owners tend to be adding towing accessories, lighting or an inverter instead.

Output at idle matters more than peak rating in both cases.

Plug codes

Some Titan applications differ by plug code within the same model year. If your truck is a 2007 Titan, confirm which plug you have before ordering.
