Shop power and ground cable for charging-system and car audio installs, available in 1/0 AWG, 2 AWG, 4 AWG, and 8 AWG. Correct gauge selection depends on current draw and run length, since voltage drop rises with both.

As a general guide, 1/0 AWG suits main alternator-to-battery runs and high-current amplifier feeds, 4 AWG covers moderate amplifier runs, and 8 AWG suits smaller accessory circuits. Longer runs need a heavier gauge than short ones carrying the same current.
