Electrical reliability matters more on a 6.0L

The 6.0L is the Power Stroke with the most electrical sensitivity. FICM voltage in particular is a well-known weak point — the fuel injection control module needs adequate voltage to run correctly, and low system voltage produces hard starting, rough running and misfires that get misdiagnosed as fuel or injector problems.

A weak charging system on a 6.0L does not just dim your lights. It can make the engine run badly. That makes charging capacity worth more on this engine than on most.

Dual batteries are not optional here

These trucks need both batteries in good condition to start reliably in cold weather, and a marginal pair will show up as extended cranking long before it shows up as a no-start. Replace both at once and match them.

2003 and 2007 straddle two engines

The 6.0L arrived partway through 2003 alongside the 7.3L, and the 6.4L arrived in 2008 with some 2007 overlap. Confirm your engine rather than ordering by year.
