The 6.7L has run since 2011 with updates along the way. Check your model year against the individual product listing, since bracket and connector details changed across the run.

Why 6.7L owners upgrade

These are working trucks carrying more factory electronics than any generation before them. Glow plugs, emissions equipment and cab systems all draw before you add anything. A plow, upfitter equipment, an inverter, a welder, a winch or an audio system quickly exceeds what the factory alternator has spare.

Fleet and upfit trucks are the common case here — service bodies, cranes, air compressors and light towers all pull hard at idle, which is exactly where a stock alternator is weakest.

Dual batteries

Replace both at once and match them. AGM tolerates diesel vibration and deep cycling far better than a flooded starting battery.
