Which generation do you have?

The C5 ran 1997-2004 with the LS1 and LS6. The C6 ran 2005-2013, and the C7 from 2014-2019 with the LT1. Several Mechman alternators cover both C5 and C6 applications; the C7 uses a different unit. Check the individual product listing against your year before ordering.

Why Corvette owners upgrade

Two reasons, usually. Audio builds in a Corvette have limited space for batteries, which puts more of the burden on the charging system rather than on stored reserve. And track use with added electronics, cooling fans or data logging pushes electrical demand well past what the factory unit was specified for.

Output at idle matters more than peak rating in both cases. A stock alternator falls furthest behind at low RPM, which is exactly where a car sits in the pits or in traffic with the system running.

Finish options

Billet housings are popular on Corvettes where the engine bay is detailed. Polished, chrome and machined finishes are available alongside the anodized colours.

Don't skip the wiring
